(The Punjab Conferment of Proprietary Rights on Occupancy Tenants and Muqarraridars Act 2012)

I want to share the exploitation of feudal on the name of tenant last year Govt. of Punjab have passed a bill (The Punjab Conferment of Proprietary Rights on Occupancy Tenants and Muqarraridars Act 2012). It’s not fulfilled the rights of peasant and tenants for land distribution its only provide the rights to feudal land lords. Basically this is the forwardness of feudal land lord that passed this bill from assembly with great intrigue for their own rights but mentioned the word of Tenants in heading but no any talk about tenants in postscript of Act. So it is great badinage on the name of tenants. The term they use in Act MUQARRARIDARS,  mean those feudal that, British Empire provide 0.4 million acre land for cultivation and appointed these feudal as caretaker (MUQARRARIDAR) from the partition to till today these feudal land lord are possession of the land and cultivating this 0.4 million acre land and now they want to register this land with their own name because of this they mobilize and exploit to Punjab Assembly on the name of tenants. So enforcement of this law is meaningless for tenant & peasant rights in Punjab. Under this law peasant of Punjab cannot claim right of land ownership.

DASE have suggested that we should be present a new law for pure tenant & peasant rights of Punjab and presented to Punjab government as recommendation of peasant and tenants of Punjab.
